Explore Animals and Their Worlds with Young Learners
Animals for Pre-K/K - #AW4 - $435 Value for $365
Also Available:
Combined Program - #AW5 - $565 Value for $465

From
the first moment your beginning student opens these books, they will be
captivated by the stories and engrossed in the superb illustrations.
Activities are an important part of the studies that capture the interest
of young students, but are still brimming with information that will
satisfy the curiosity of all ages!
Meet animals who live in a variety of landscapes, from woodlands to the
arctic, and even in the desert sand. Meet amazing animals who are
perfectly suited for survival in their habitat, and details about each
ecological system that surrounds them.
Younger students will benefit from a set designed to support early
learning, fine motor development and alphabet skills. The adventure
reading will thrill even your youngest student as they tiptoe into the
forest to watch a newborn fawn take its first steps. You’ll spend time
tracking wolves, caring for a young coyote, or keeping track of a crowd of
penguins.
Hands-on activities and learning opportunities are laced throughout the
program. Your instructor’s guide has oodles of ideas, but in addition,
many of your books have ideas such as making a paper elephant trunk or
watching ants eat sugar.
Things to Love about Animals and Their
Worlds:
Young Learners are Captivated by Key Resources
Animals and Their Worlds has magnificent resources that truly
captivate students. Pictures in the Animal Encyclopedia are breath-taking,
allowing you to go up-close and inside the lives of mammals, birds,
insects and more. Meanwhile the “One Small Square” series engrosses
students (and parents!) as they discover everything that is going on in a
small square of the environment -- on the ground, among the plant life --
even underground and in the tops of trees!
Such Great Nature Notebooking and Journaling Opportunities
Students create a full-color “Make-Your-Own” Animal Notebook that has
weekly opportunities to write or draw about a highlighted animal.
Full-color pages are fun and motivate students to do their best work.
Younger students can draw their responses, or even add pictures if they’d
like to expand their notebook. Meanwhile, young students will find plenty
of nature notebooking in the resource, "Burrows, Beehives & Beds," in
which they will fill out illustrated pages with observations about the
environment, weather, habitats, animal attributes and more!
You Can Add the Nature Investigation Kit!
This kit gives young learners the hard-to-find supplies they need to
track down all sorts of findings in the great outdoors. Includes tools
like a top quality magnifying glass, a jumbo real owl pellet kit,
binoculars, a large clear four-inch lidded jar for collecting specimens,
an indoor/outdoor thermometer and much more.
There’s a Set to Fit Your Family
This Pre-K/K Program has targeted learning activities for young
students. Each week the same letter is reinforced that is introduced in
the coordinating language arts program, “Basic Phonics.” Plus, a drawing
program increases fine motor skills, while another book practices
alphabetical order. If you have an older student as well, we have a
combined set that allows you to school both your students with this set.
Details are below.

Studying the Habitats
Stop in at
habitats around the world and discover the plants, animals and insects
that call them home. Two sets of books are highlights in this program: the
"One Small Square" series and the "Take a Walk" books.
The "One Small Square" Series approaches habitat and animal study within
"one small sqaure" of each habitat. Beautiful drawings make it easy for
young children to become a part of each landscape with its dangers,
wonders and curious creatures. In intricate detail, the author and
illustrator highlight natural processes going on in the environment,
whether it be how leaf stems release from trees or how a worm helps to
recycle soil. In each volume, simple activities reinforce student
comprehension.
Meanwhile, the "Take a Walk" books show students how to experience local
habitats firsthand and offer notebooking and other fun activities that
help students learn! Wonderful pictures of the creatures that live in each
habitat are featured throughout.
