The Language Arts 8 program provides in-depth instruction on constructing a plot that speaks to readers and a structure that supports their writing goals. Fantastic assignments get students involved because they are challenging and often fun or interesting. An example is to take your favorite book off the shelf, and describe what it is about the lead character that captures you, what they are trying to get or get away from, and what is the main opposition to the lead character's objective. These assignments engage the student because they start with something with which they are familiar, and help them to evaluate them in a new way.
Students will continue instruction in grammar and mechanics and also master the basics of sentence diagramming. Additional vocabulary work will continue to add to your student's working language skills.
