The Language Arts 5 program concentrates on student mastery of outlining and writing a good paragraph. Students learn to build several different types of paragraphs, such as descriptive, cause and effect, sequence, and comparison paragraphs. The creative writing assignments allow students to practice constructing good paragraphs as they study the various types, and assignment projects coordinate with themed program topics.
Students will also continue with their grammar studies, working on more advanced grammar concepts. Students will learn to recognize the parts of speech they already know as they are used in different parts of a sentence; for example, students already know what a noun is, and this year will learn how to recognize a noun when used as a subject, object of the preposition, predicate nominative, appositive, noun of direct address and more. Cursive handwriting instruction also continues.

It also offers your choice of several reader sets, so you'll want to choose the set that includes the themed readers that coordinate with your themed program.
