Language Arts 2 is designed for students who are ready to read short chapter books. The program works on advanced phonics skills, which help build increased reading confidence and greater reading comprehension. Students will work through easy chapter books throughout the year, progressing to reading a true chapter book by the end of the year. Most books average 60 pages per book.
Students are also introduced to beginning grammar concepts, including nouns, verbs, and adjectives, as well as basic punctuation rules. The resources included in this program offer some lighthearted learning as students will play "search and find" and other games with fun grammar books. These books present the abstract concepts of what is a noun, verb or adjective in a concrete way, making them accessible to young learners, and giving them a headstart in grammar study.
The Language Arts 2 program includes the resources listed below, and a guidebook that offers creative writing & reading to coordinate with several themed programs. It also offers your choice of several reader sets, so you'll want to choose the set that includes the themed readers that coordinate with your themed program.
